Bio-solid waste-based bio CNG plants have been approved for Prayagraj, Lucknow and Ghaziabad districts.

Approval has been accorded to 300 tpd plants in Lucknow and Ghaziabad. Moreover, a 200 tpd plant in Prayagraj has also been sanctioned.

The total capital investment on the projects will be Rs 300 crore, it will bring an income of Rs 204 lakh per annum to the municipalities as royalties.

The plants will also reduce two lakh tonnes of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases.

Besides, 27,000 kg of bio-CNG per day that they will generate will be used in industrial, commercial, and vehicular fuel. At the same time, it will produce 160 tonne of biofertilisers per day.
