Kalammawadi Direct Pipeline project to get two year extension

The Kalammawadi Direct Pipeline project, aimed at providing clean and regular water supply to the citizens, is likely to get a two year extension to complete the work.

The project by Kolhapur Municipal Corporation (KMC), carried out by GKC Infrastructure for laying the 52 km pipeline and setting up a jack-well at the dam site, started two years ago.

The 29 month deadline for completion of the Rs 488 crore project is set to end next month.

GKC Infrastructure is seeking KMC’s permission to extend the deadline. Work was delayed as the civic administration was not able to get the necessary permissions on time.

So far, 34 percent of the work has been completed as the work of the jack-well has been stuck due to increased water level in the dam and the difficult terrain.
