Airports Authority of India (AAI) has issued a construction contract for the expansion of passenger terminal facilities at Surat airport.

The work is worth Rs 350 crore. Quoting official sources, a TOI report said process for appointing consultant for the project will be completed within a few days and that structural material to be used in the terminal expansion project will be calculated soon.

It added: “Based on this, the work for the construction of the terminal building will be taken up post-monsoon. Expansion of the terminal building will be completed within two years.”

It may be recalled that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had laid foundation stone for the extension of terminal building in January this year.
