All contracts for the redevelopment of Tirupati Railway Station in Andhra Pradesh have been awarded.

The Ministry of Railways has accorded administrative clearance for the project.

The project will see development of station building on South side with basement and ground + three floors, development of station building on the North side with ground+ three floors.

Two air courses with a width of 35 metres will be developed to link the northern and southern sides. It will also see improvements to the existing platforms, construction of new cover over platforms.

The facilities that would be provided in the upgradation plan are arrival/departure concourse, waiting lounge, ticket counter, female waiting hall area, cloak room, rest rooms, VIP lounge, railway offices and food courts will be developed in the two buildings.

There will be 23 lifts, 20 escalators, information display system, public address system, CCTV camera and coach indication boards on international standards.
