Ashok Leyland plans to spend Rs 2,000 crore on new products pipeline, BS-VI
Automobile major Ashok Leyland has decided to spend around Rs 2,000 crore in the next two years on new products and BS-VI plans.
Ashok Leyland, which is India's second largest medium and heavy commercial vehicles manufacturer, is gearing up for future product programmes and growth in the light commercial vehicles business.
Speaking to the media, Dheeraj Hinduja, Chairman, Ashok Leyland, said, “This year, our capex would be close to Rs 1,000 crore, and for the next year too, we are looking at a similar range.”
The proposed capex will primarily go towards the new LCV and modular programmes, as well as BS-VI related plans. Asked about media reports on a possible tie-up with Tesla, Hinduja said the company was not looking at any collaboration for cars.
