Bastar Railway and IRCON Ink Pact for New Rail Corridor Project in Chattishgarh
NMDC’s JV, Bastar Railway Private Limited (BRPL) and IRCON have entered into a project execution agreement for construction of a rail corridor project in Chattishgarh. The estimated project cost of the rail corridor is said to be to the tune of Rs 2,538 crore.
The agreement was signed in presence of Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh for construction of 140 KM long railway line between Jagdalpur to Rawghat, a stretch where 13 new railway stations will come up.
T.R.K. Rao, Chairman, Bastar Railway Private Limited & Director (Commercial), NMDC Limited and M.L. Gupta, Executive Director, IRCON signed the agreement.
The company said that the first phase of land acquisition for rail corridor project has already started.
The details of proposed land of 101 km fall under Bastar and Kondegaon have already been sent to Ministry of Railways for publication in the Gazette.
Chhattisgarh Raman Singh has advised the concerned officials to complete the process of land acquisition and diversion of forest land within three months and to start the construction works by January 2018.
The Chief Minister also released the logo of Bastar Railway Private Limited.
BRPL is a joint venture company formed by NMDC Limited, SAIL, IRCON and CMDC Limited with NMDC being the major shareholder with 43 per cent equity stake.
