Forty percent work completed on Ahmedabad-Mahesana railway line
Western Railway (WR) has undertaken gauge conversion of Ahmedabad-Mahesana railway line in length of 70 km in Gujarat. The cost of the project is Rs 478 crore.
In June 2016, Minister of Railway, Suresh Prabhu laid the foundation stone for the project. In the same year in November, pre-construction activities were underway for the project.
As per information gathered by Projects Today, around 40 percent work on the project was completed. Out of 12 major bridges, two have been retained and five were completed. Of the 93 minor bridges, work on 42 bridges have been completed so far. An amount of Rs 159.81 crore expenditure was incurred for the project, as of August 2019.
