GE Healthcare, a market leader in medical technology and diagnostics, develops smarter devices, data, analytics, apps, and services that enable clinicians to make more informed timely decisions. The company exchanged a Letter of Intent with the Department of Pharmaceuticals during the India Pharma & India Medical Devices 2021 organized by Invest India to expedite regulatory approvals for their PLI investment and grounding.

GE Healthcare launched its manufacturing facility in Bengaluru aligned to the National Agenda of ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’. The plant is a 100% subsidiary of Wipro GE Healthcare and has been setup as a Greenfield facility manufacturing Computed Tomography, Ultrasound, Cath Lab, Anesthesia Unit Ventilators, Patient Monitors with an investment of over INR 100 Crore.

A 35000 sq ft facility, the PLI commissioned factory is set up for 24/7 operations with 35 employees in its shopfloor which is expected to increase to 100 in next 2 to 3 years.

Invest India is also supporting GE Healthcare in bridging pathways of the PLI Scheme of Medical Devices with the PLI Scheme for Electronics in the mid to long term.
