Godrej Properties Limited (GPL), one of the India’s leading real estate developers, announced that its Godrej Garden City (GGC), township project in Ahmedabad, has received the Indian Green Building Council Green Residential Society (IGBC – GRS) Platinum Certification. This certification is recognized as the highest rating for residential societies.

Pirojsha Godrej, Executive Chairman of Godrej Properties said that they are very pleased to have received IGBC GRS Platinum certification for Godrej Garden City. Sustainability is a key pillar of their company’s vision and they remain committed to deliver more such milestones in their sustainability journey.

After this achievement, GGC become the largest township in India to be GRES Platinum certified. The project is within Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) limits.

Garden City is located off SG Highway in Ahmedabad, and is within Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) limits. The project is currently home to over 1,500 families and has a fully-functional international school, a city square retail facility, a 70,000-sq-ft club house, as well as facilities for healthcare, recreation, hospitality and banking. The master plan for the project was created by architects Skidmore, Owings and Merrill (SOM), who have also designed the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, the world’s tallest building.

Godrej Garden City was selected as one of 17 projects from around the world by the Clinton Foundation, to partner the Clinton Climate Initiative. It also won the ‘Excellence in Green Township Development’ award at the Ahmedabad Entrepreneur and Excellence Awards 2017 and the ‘Township Project of the Year’ award at the Asian Customer Engagement Forum (ACEF) Property awards, 2016, among many others.

Earlier on July 3, Godrej Properties had announced expanding in Bengaluru and Gurgaon markets by adding two housing projects comprising 1.6 million sq ft of saleable area. The real estate arm of the Godrej group said it has added a new group housing project in Gurgaon.

This project will offer approximately 98,000 square meters (approximately 1.05 million sq ft) of saleable area and will be developed as a modern group housing development.

The realty firm is developing residential, commercial and township projects spread across approximately 13.5 million square meters in 12 cities in India.
