Gravita India Ltd, India’s leading recycling company with manufacturing presence around the globe, on Thursday announced that its Jamaica-based step down subsidiary Gravita Jamaica Ltd, has started recycling and commercial production of PET Flakes (Polyethylene Terephthalmate) by installing an ultra-modern ‘PET Hot Wash Line’ with an annual capacity of 4,800 MTPA.

“Gravita Group has made investments of Rs 650 lakh for procuring and commissioning of this new ultra-modern recycling plant which is funded from the internal accruals of the company. The plant is expected to generate revenue of approximately Rs 1,000 lakh coupled with a gross margin of 37% in its initial year,” the company said in a statement.

Based in Jaipur, Gravita India Ltd carries out the business of smelting of lead ore/lead concentrate/lead battery scrap to produce primary and secondary lead metal, which is further transformed into pure lead, specific lead alloy, lead oxides (lead sub-oxide, red lead, and litharge) and lead products like lead sheets, lead pipes etc.
