Kent RO Systems’ Noida plant to go live this month.
Kent RO Systems Limited is set to commission its Rs. 150-crore manufacturing facility at Noida later this month.
The plant, which will go on stream on September 24, will effectively double its existing annual capacity of six lakh units. Kent’s facility at Rourkee also has a capacity of 6 lakh units per annum.
“The company has completed 20 years of operations and now has a market share of about 40 per cent and exports about 5 per cent of the products to some select markets. Apart from expanding the range of products, we expect exports to go up with the new plant,” said Mahesh Gupta, Chairman of Kent RO.
Speaking on the sidelines of the launch of a product line-up, Gupta said, “The focus is on adding more products while strengthening the water purifier business. The water purifier market has grown to be a Rs. 3,500-crore market in the organised segment, with a penetration of 3 per cent and registering annual growth of about 10 per cent.”
The company ended FY 2017-18 with sales of Rs. 850 crore( Rs. 760 crore). “We expect to close the current financial year with a turnover of over Rs. 950 crore and even get closer to the Rs. 1000-crore mark.”
The penetration for water purifiers in the country is low at 3 per cent as against 10 per cent for automatic washing machines, he said expressing concern.
Kent’s new range of RO water purifiers are equipped with ultra-violet protection in a purified water storage tank. The new feature protects water from bacteria and external impurities even when the purifier is no in use for a longer periods of time.
