KTPS seventh phase power supply begins

To make Telangana a power surplus state, TS Genco has commenced 800 MW power generation at the Kothagudem Thermal Power Station (KTPS) seventh phase on Saturday night.

Chairman and managing director of TS Genco Prabhakar Rao formally launched power production in Paloncha of Kothagudem district and synchronized it to the power grid.

BHEL ED Mukhopadhyay, GM Srinivasa Rao and Genco directors Venkat Rajam, Sachadanandam, Eds Ajay, Lakshmayya, CE Srinivas and others participated in the event.

The seventh phase 800 MW plant of KTPS started after the formation of Telangana with an estimated cost of Rs 5,700 crore. The works began on February 1, 2015.
Prabhakar Rao complimented his staff and thanked CM KCR for his continuous support and encouragement without which this would not have been possible. KCR also lauded the efforts of Genco for this feat in record time.
