At present firm is operating with 9000 TPA MS Ingot production through Induction Furnaces ( 6 MT X1 Plus 3 MT X 1 Nos. Induction Furnaces) and 21000 TPA Rerolled Steel products through Billet Reheating Furnace based on pulverized coal.
The management has decided to expand it capacity in 2 phases.
In first phase rolling mill capacity will be expanded from 21000 TPA to 57800 TPA by setting up another 36800 TPA Strip/ TMT rolling mill which will be operated through existing pulverized Coal fired Billet reheating furnace.
The company has decided to stop the existing 9000 TPA Induction furnace ass it is based on the old technology which is energy inefficient.
So in First phase of expansion the unit will have two rerolling mills one existing with 21000 TPA Capacity and the other new one with 36800 TPA capacity. Both rerolling mills will be operated with existing reheating furnace, no new reheating furnace will be installed. It is proposed to improved energy efficiency in reheating furnace and coal consumption per ton of rerolled product will reduced from 160 Kg/T to 150 Kg/T.

This Second phase will be set up after implementing the first phase of expansion of setting up Coal fired 2nd rolling mill with 39000 TPA capacity.
After this facility will be set up, then the reheating of 39000 TPA billet from Billet reheating furnace will be stopped and the mill will receive 39000 TPA Hot Billets from Induction furnaces for hot charging.
The existing 21000 TPA Mill based on reheating will continue to be operated as it is based on Pulverized coal.
