Maa Kardargarhi Alumina Refinery to set up unit in Chhattisgarh
Maa Kudargarhi Alumina Refinery Pvt Ltd (MKARPL) proposes to set up a greenfield alumina refinery (300,000 TPA) and captive cogeneration power plant (3 x 10 MW). Due to availability of large chunk of encumbrance free, contiguous government land measuring 92.172 hectares, proximity to source of bauxite and coal and water, availability of approach road, MKARPL decided to select the Chiranga site to establish the project.
The proposed unit will be located at village Chiranga, tehsil Batauli, District Surguja (Chhattisgarh).
111.8 ha land has been identified for the project. 92.172 ha is government land (pahad chattan) and 19.628 is private land (single crop agriculture land). Industries Dept has recommended district collector to transfer 91.942 ha government land to MKAPL. No house or other structures are present on the identified land. No forest land is involved. 41.78 ha land has been considered as greenbelt, which is 37.4% of the total area.
Total project cost is 1147 Crore rupees. Employment generation from proposed project will be 275 direct employment and 500 indirect employment.
The targeted production capacity of the Plant is 300000 TPA alumina. Bauxite ore for the plant would be procured from mines located in Mainpat, CG and coal from Sohagpur-Bishrampur area of SECL mines. The ore transportation will be done through road.
The electricity requirement is 18 MW and steam requirement is 110 TPH, which will be procured from the cogeneration power plant. Company has also proposed to install 2 x 1500 KW DG Set.
