Mohota Industries Announces Entry into Higher-margin B2C Segment
In sync with the country’s digitization program, Mumbai-based textile company Mohota Industries Ltd on Friday announced its entry into B2C segment through its existing dealer network and e-commerce platforms.
According Mohota, this also signals its potential in finished-goods segment including garments, suitings, shirtings and denims. The company will further widen the product range to be sold under this platform. The company is targeting both domestic and export sales in this space with a focus on the latter. B2C segment is expected to boost company’s operating margins, the company said.
In addition to this, the company has started technological up-gradation of its distribution systems.
Its network of 2,000 dealers will be enabled with an app-based platform to ease the process of order placing, tracking and also online payments which will improve fund flow.
“These actions are in line with the company’s ongoing expansion activity in the textiles sector and are pursuant to the communication issued by the company in October,” Mohota added.
Shares of the company closed trading at Rs 389, up 2.60% from the previous closing of Rs 379.15, on BSE today.
