The Health & Family Welfare Department, Karnataka, is upgrading the Mother Child Hospital (MCH) capacity from 60 beds to 100 beds at Sira taluka in Tumkuru district

In August 2018, Balaji Krupa from Bengaluru was appointed as contractor for the project

it was revealed that civil work on the project was underway with completion re-scheduled for March 2020 from the earlier completion date of December 2019
