MSP Steel proposes expansion of its Integrated Steel Plant in Chhattisgarh

MSP Steel proposes expansion of its Integrated Steel Plant located at Jamgaon, District Raigarh, Chhattisgarh.

Total 242.23 acres (98 hectares) land is required for the total steel plant. Land available with MSP is 169.02 acres (68.4 ha). Additionally, 73.21 acres (29.6 ha) land will be acquired for the expansion projects. The land to be acquired is categorised as single crop agriculture land.

The existing units of MSP is established on 126.07 acres (51 ha) land (2 separate Blocks, A & B)), out of which 41.6 acres land has been developed as Greenbelt. Additionally, 38.4 acres will be developed as greenbelt, making the total greenbelt area as 80 acres (32.4 ha).

Existing power requirement of the steel plant is 65 MW, out of which 61 MW is met from Captive Power Plant and 4 MW is supplied by State Grid. EHT (132 MV) switch yard of CSPDCL is already available inside the plant.

Power requirement for the expansion units will be 96 MW out of which 45 MW will be met from the proposed CPP and 51MW will be taken from State Grid.

2x50TPHwashey installed,but only 1x50 TPH is operated for washing 360000 TPA ROM coal.

2 By dropping 3 x 8 tons Induction Furnaces from SMS-I, 18912 TPA production of Liquid Steel gets reduced. However, because of addition of hot metal from blast furnace, number of heats per furnace will increase from existing 9-10 heats/day to 11 heats/day and 330 days operation from existing 310 days operation per year.
