NTPC Issues Tender to Install 500 kW of Rooftop Solar at its Muzaffarpur Thermal Power Plant

The National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) has issued a tender to install rooftop solar photovoltaic (PV) projects totaling 500 kW at various locations of Kanti Bijlee Utpadan Nigam Limited (KBUNL) located in Muzaffarpur district of Bihar. The bid submission deadline is May 8, 2019.
The KBUNL is a wholly owned subsidiary of NTPC which owns and operates the 610 MW thermal power station located at Kanti block of Muzaffarpur district of Bihar. This is an engineering procurement construction (EPC) tender, and the scope of work includes the design, supply, erection, testing, and commissioning of rooftop solar PV projects totaling 500 kW. The successful bidder will also provide operation and maintenance services for five years from the date of the trial run of the rooftop solar PV systems.

The successful bidder will also provide system guarantee or warranty for five years. NTPC has stated that the solar PV modules must conform to IEC 61215/IS14286 standards and the capacity of each module must be a minimum of 240 watts.
it also issued a tender to install a 900-kW rooftop solar PV system at NTPC-Bongaigaon thermal power project in Kokrajhar district of Assam. Then in January 2019, it issued a solicitation for 20 MW of grid-connected floating solar projects at its Anta gas power station in Rajasthan.
