Indian solar energy solutions provider Vikram Solar Ltd has received an order from Hindustan Zinc Limited (BOM:500188) to install a 1-MW floating solar array in Rajasthan

The project involves installing Vikram Solar’s 330 Wp 72-cell ELDORA polycrystalline modules at Ghosunda Dam in Near Chittorgarh. It will help reduce water evaporation and the development of algae. It represents one of the first megawatt-scale floating projects in India for the local private sector, the developer said

Commissioning is scheduled for July 2019, at which point it will be able to generate 1,993 MWh of electricity per year
