The West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company is setting up a 10 MWp solar photovoltaic-based power unit at Santaldih in Purulia district of West Bengal on EPC basis

In August 2016, Bharat Heavy Electricals (BHEL) had bagged an order for design, engineering, manufacture/procurement, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of the project on EPC basis. The project was originally scheduled for completion in October 2017, but was delayed due to land issues

As per the latest update available with Projects Today, it was revealed that out of 10 MWp, work on five MWp was completed, and work on the remaining five MWp capacity was underway with completion scheduled for March 2019
