Rail works launched for Patna Underground Metro

Chief Minister of Bihar Nitish Kumar and Deputy CM Tejashwi Prasad Yadav jointly launched the commencement of construction work on the underground Metro section of Corridor-II Patna Junction to Patliputra Bus Terminal at Rajendra Nagar.

The civil work on underground Metro station at Moin-ul-Haq Stadium has commenced with the construction of the diaphragm wall (D-wall), the main support structure to demarcate the station premises.

Around 82 ft long D-wall, a concrete structure, was inserted in the dug-up ground with similar depth. The underground work on Patna Metro project has started and the overground work is also being done.

All the necessary instructions have been issued to the officials regarding the ongoing construction work.

The Corridor-II of Metro Rail will be 7.9 km long comprising six underground Metro stations - Patna Junction (interchangeable station), Akashvani, Gandhi Maidan, PMCH, Patna University, Moin-ul-Haq Stadium and Rajendra Nagar.

The work on the elevated (overground) section of Corridor-II of Patna Metro is in progress as it is a priority corridor.

It will be 6.5 km long with five elevated stations, which will come up at Malahi Pakri, Khemnichak (interchangeable station), Bhoothnath, Zero Mile and Patliputra Bus Terminal.
