Government has received bids for this project and the work is expected to start by October 2017 and get completed within 18 months.
Delhi Airport to be De-congested by 2019. As per NHAI plan, the junction of station road with NH8 in front of Metro station will be made signal free. To achieve this, a proposed flyover will be constructed on right carriageway i.e. for traffic from Gurgaon to Delhi with a U turn provision. Additionally two foot over bridges with escalators will also be constructed for pedestrian movement. Clearly demarcated bus bays will also be provided for movement of buses. A vehicular underpass is being constructed on the station road to facilitate the moment of Defence personnel. The stretch from Dhaula Kuan Junction to Parade Road is proposed to be widened to ensure minimum four lanes on either side. Additional structures near junctions will be provided. A vehicular underpass is also proposed in this stretch to connect defense establishments on either side. This would also connect Manikshaw Centre. The Parade Road junction curve will be improved through road widening to allow smooth turning of traffic towards airport / Gurgaon. Even at this junction, a vehicular underpass is proposed to give direct access to Parade Road, hence the existing signals on these two junctions would be removed.
