Spintech Tubes has firmed up plans to set up an integrated iron and steel unit at Dhasal, Jamuria in Bardhaman district of West Bengal.

The unit will span over 300 acre of land and have facilities like 1.2 million tpa of iron ore grinding unit, 1x1.13 million tpa of pellet plant, 3x500 tpd of coal-based DRI plant, among others.

In a recent update shared with Projects Today, it was disclosed that the company is awaiting terms of reference (ToR) for the project. The land acquisition and financial closure are yet to be done. The project work will commence by January 2020.

The project will provide employment opportunity for around 1,200-1,500 casual and contract workers in construction phase, and in operation phase approximately 1,150 direct employment.
