The Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC) has decided to convert 12 major roads
The Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC) has decided to convert 12 major roads in the city into model roads.
The project will entail an investment of Rs 240 crore. These roads would be widened and re-laid with underground ducts at short intervals so that the roads need not be dug to lay underground cables or wires.
Additionally, footpaths will be constructed on both sides of the roads for pedestrians. These roads must be identified within the next 10-12 days so that tenders could be finalised as soon as possible. The work would begin after the monsoon season.
Two major roads in each of six divisions will be identified shortly and converted into model roads. The length of each model road will be at least five km and will cost around Rs 20 crore.
