The Railway Authorities have drawn up a plan to develop Thrissur railway station to international standards by making an investment of around Rs 100 crore.

The proposed development projects are expected to be completed in three years. A nodal officer has been appointed for the execution of the projects, and primary data collection has already begun.

The location survey is being conducted for third rail track between Ernakulam and Shoranur.
