Uttar Pradesh govt launches projects worth Rs 3,856 cr for Ganga
The Uttar Pradesh government has launched 25 projects with an investment of Rs 3,856 crore to make Ganga and its tributaries free of pollution under the Namami Gange Programme.
As many as 24 sewage treatment plants are ready in different cities including Mathura, Varanasi, Baghpat and Jaunpur.
Moreover, the plants in Mirzapur, Ghazipur, Bareilly, Farrukhabad-Fatehgarh will also be completed soon.
Kanpur and Unnao will soon get the STPs of 30 MLD and 15 MLD capacity. In Mathura, 20 drains have been tapped and connected to a 30 MLD STP, while in Jaunpur 14 drains have been tapped and a 30 MLD STP has been constructed to clean waste water.
