Work underway on Colaba waste water treatment facility
The Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM) is implementing waste water treatment facility with capacity of 37 MLD at Colaba, Mumbai, Maharashtra under Mumbai Sewage Disposal Project (Stage-II). The project will entail an investment of Rs 564 crore.
The project located near Afghan Church will collect waste water from Kitteries Road, Afghan Church, Robert Road, NF Road, Merryweather Road and A-ward areas. In November 2014, MCGM completed feasibility report of the project. The company has received necessary clearances and tendering process was completed.
Work on the project was expected to commence by February 2015. In May 2016, Degremont, a France-based company, bagged an order worth Rs 564 crore to execute the project with operation and maintenance period of 15 years.
As per the latest information available with Projects Today, work is still underway with completion rescheduled for 31 December 2019.
