Narmada Valley Development Authority has awarded a Rs 374 crore contract to Hindustan Construction Company (HCC) and Laxmi Civil Engineering Services (LCESPL) joint venture, on 3 November, 2016.

Under the contract, HCC-LCESPL JV will construct Bistan Lift Irrigation Scheme on a turnkey basis.

The scope of the project includes connecting a pipeline of 167 km, two pumping stations and micro irrigation systems including automation systems (SCADA) etc.

The project will irrigate 22,000 ha in Bistan region under Gogawan, Bhagwanpura, and Khargone tehsils in Khargone district, in the state of Madhya Pradesh, by drawing water from the main canal of the Indira Sagar project.

The project is estimated to be completed in 30 months.
