NTPC's hydro electric power plant to be commissioned by Mar 2019
NTPC's Tapovan Vishnugad hydro electric power plant is likely to be commissioned by March 2019.
The company’s 520 MW plant in Uttarakhand is facing delays mainly due to flash floods in 2012 and 2013. The project is under Prime Minister's Pragati platform.
The estimated cost of the project is Rs 4,000 crore and involves constructing a hydel power plant across the river Dhauliganga in Chamoli district, Uttarakhand.
The underground power house is almost complete, while work is in progress for the rest of the packages.
Originally, the project was scheduled to be commissioned in the year 2011.
